This week’s show features an interview with Matt from Etsy.com regarding buying handmade this holiday season and my trip to a craft fair hours from home, and the subsequent car breaking down that occurs. I love the idea of buying handmade and signed the pledge though I did make exceptions.
This week join Tishia as she shares some reviews of the online dating sites she’s used such as:
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We’re keeping it light this week since we are all busy with our Thanksgiving preparations. Chele Neisler from www.MomsLoveShopping.com is my guest and we wonder aloud why some parents let their children run wild at school social events and you will hear all about my troubles finding fresh berries and kiwi for my daughter’s Thanksgiving feast. She also discovered a cool website for teacher’s to put their own classroom wishlists online or you can donate to an underpriviledged classroom.

This show is for the chronic over spender who faces the holidays with a mixture of guilty excitement and time tested dread. Year after year you come into the holiday season with an altogether too long gift list and a ridiculously optimistic outlook on your ability to pay for everything and still cover your regular bills.
There’s no judgment here. I’ve made every mistake that can be made – especially at Christmas time.

With the holidays approaching, what better time to discuss how to plan a classroom holiday party! Teachers very often appreciate having a group of willing volunteers to plan these parties so they don’t have to think about it. If the parents respect the teacher’s wishes and plan activities appropriate for the age group, fun will be had by all.

This week on Single Mom’s Talk Radio Tishia is joined by Heather Jacobson. Tishia and Heather talked about something that women, especially all the single ones, will probably never tire of talking about - men!
Heather shares some of her online dating stories and the three online dating sites that she has used over the years.
Mom’s Money co-hosts Kelly McCausey and Carrie Lauth celebrate Carrie’s ‘no more unsecured debt‘ achievement on this week’s show. Tune in to hear how Carrie has made it this far and what her next goals are.
This week we are learning about Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and why it is so difficult for children to live with the disorder. My guest is Dr. Jennifer Brout from Positive Solutions of New York and she is passionate about educating the public, school administrators and the medical field about this very real and very serious disorder.
Think of how you would feel if someone brushed up against you gently but it felt as though they had punched you. How would you react? What if someone in class was tapping a pencil against the desk and that became the only sound you could hear? What would you do? These are just two examples of the struggles kids with SPD face in school and currently there is no research available to develop a treatment.
For a list of resources recommended by Dr. Brout, please visit Wonder Years Radio.
