Scrappers Talk Radio #45

January 24, 2008 by Vera · Leave a Comment

Recently Victoria was put in the hospital due to her tummy and back pain from the chemo treatments. I asked her permission to post any pictures of her and she said she doesn’t mind at all. This picture was taken after both of us had no sleep for 2 nights in a row and we were both very tired.

But like I said, I’m going to scrapbook this whole experience for her to show her courage and strength through this entire journey.

Which leads me to this week’s show which is all about scrapbooking your faith and not forgetting what God has done for us.

If you want to learn more about faithbooking you should check out my friend Dawn’s site www.FaithfullyYours.net. I love her site and it inspires me to share faithbooking more with you.

Mom’s Morning Show #85

January 23, 2008 by Tishia · Leave a Comment

It’s Hump Day on Mom’s Morning Show today. How’s your Hump Day going?

Today’s Topic:
Social Networking

Some sites that the gals shared that they use for social networking are Twitter, Work it Mom, Facebook, MySpace, Ryze,

What do you think about Ryze and Yahoo Groups? Do you still network using these two things? Most people said that they aren’t really using Ryze anymore and Tishia and Kelly shared that they aren’t involved in yahoo groups because they feel it’s too hard to keep up with everything. Patrysha shared that she loves yahoo groups.

Tishia shared that with MySpace she hasn’t had any positive business networking. It’s been full of a bunch of people spamming her bulletin board or inbox with a bunch of junk about their business. So for her personally she doesn’t like MySpace for business networking but does use it for networking with friends from highschool, etc.

Assignment for today!
Yes Kelly’s handing out ‘homework’ again. Pick a couple people in the chat room, click on their profiles and go to their page, add them as a friend and leave a comment for them.

On the Phone:
Patrysha Korchinski

Mom’s Morning Show #84

January 22, 2008 by Tishia · Leave a Comment

On Mom’s Morning Show today Kelly and Tishia were joined by special co-hosts Brenda & Vickie of Prim Sister’s Talk Radio.

Special Guest:
Tammy Gibson of A Mom in Red High Heels. Tammy joined the ladies to share about the importance of taking care of ourselves especially as mothers. Tammy shared that it doesn’t have to be this long drawn out process every day - it can take as little as five minutes and simply just putting on lip gloss & mascara.

It’s not about being obsessed with how you look but instead it’s about caring for oneself and working with what you’ve got!

It was a great interview and if you missed the show you can access it in the archives section on the site.

Last minute chatter was about email and some issues that a couple people were talking about on Twitter and in the webcat - missed emails or emails going into the spam folder.

Journeys to Motherhood #32

January 18, 2008 by Christina · Leave a Comment

In our 32nd episode we meet Colleen, who shares her very turbulent journey to adoption. As a young, married 20-something woman, she and her husband just assumed that they would be able to get pregnant when they wanted. Many women this age have those same thoughts and never consider that they might find themselves on a tough path facing infertility issues.

In Part 1 of her interview, Colleen shares how she went through test after test, both IUI and IVF treatments, and finally found themselves considering adoption after 9 years of marriage. Join us and listen to Colleen share the details of her journey, the circumstances of a failed adoption, and be inspired by Barbara’s encouraging words and belief that your baby will find you, no matter what path to motherhood you may follow.

Mom’s Morning Show #81

January 17, 2008 by Tishia · 2 Comments

Kelly and Tishia like to start the show off with some general chit chat before jumping into the topic of working at home. Kelly talked about those beautiful cuddly quads and she shared about how tiring it can be to have to get all 4 babies ready to go out, like was the case this morning.

Next week Monday Sandra Jensen of Family Foodies will join us briefly at the beginning of the show to share a crock pot recipe shopping list. On Thursday we’ll all join together and put the ingredients into our crockpots & then even though we aren’t ‘together’, that evening we’ll all share the same dinner. How fun!

Today’s Topic: Re-directs

A re-direct takes the traffic (that clicks on the link) and it redirects it to a new URL.

Kelly talked about the point of setting up a re-direct page. When setting up re-driect links make them as short as possible! You want it to be easy to remember & short to type. If you have a lot of them, keep a list so that you can find them really quickly if you want to share it.

There are lots of different reasons to use re-direct links. Tune in to today’s Mom’s Morning Show to hear all about re-directs and listen to Kelly walk a listener through the setup process of one.

Do you love participating in the Wordless Wednesday but don’t like not being able to tell the ’story’ behind the picture? Now thanks to two moms you can share your story in the newly launched Tell Me Thursday! What a great idea Annette Yen & Chele Neisler :-)

Mom’s Morning Show #80

January 16, 2008 by Tishia · Leave a Comment

Kelly and Tishia are joined with a special co-host today on Mom’s Morning Show - Barbara Winters of Journey to Motherhood.  Kelly & Tishia started the morning off talking about the Michigan preliminaries that was going on yesterday.  Tishia lives in Michigan and didn’t even know it was going on yesterday!  So that answered Kelly’s question as to whether she voted in the preliminaries.

Barbara is an actress, writer, painter and lots of other things that fall under the creative umbrella!  She enjoys using her voice for a worthy cause - sharing & helping other women on their journey to motherhood.  Barbara didn’t think that she would ever have a problem creating a child when she felt the time was right but she did and it took it’s toll on her both physically & emotionally.  Her journey took about 10 years from when she was ready to have a baby until the adoption of her baby girl!

Barbara talked about the option of surrogacy and how they did try that route but it didn’t work out.  Tishia shared about her offer to be a surrogate for her best friend that is having some fertility issues!  Kelly shared about her story of having her first child and giving him up for adoption.

It was a really heart warming show!
