Mom’s Morning Show #61

Nov 29, 2007 Author: Tishia | Filed under: Mom's Morning Show

Kelly and Tishia were joined by Christina Lemmey on Mom’s Morning Show today. Christina joined Kelly and Tishia to talk about kitchen wish lists for this Christmas. Christina shared that she is thinking along the lines of big items. Kelly shared that she loves Pampered Chef items and actually uses them. Tishia has some pampered chef items on her wish list now that she realized they really aren’t all that expensive!

Special guest today was Maria Rodgers O’Rourke. Maria joined the show to share some of her 10 Tips for a Less-Stress Holiday Season. The Holidays bring a lot of stress on people, especially women as they are always doing things for everyone. Maria’s book Deck the Halls Without Climbing the Walls is perfect for every woman who wants to prepare for December 25th in the true Christmas spirit, and not only survive the holidays but enjoy them. Maria will help you put some joy back in your heart during the busy Holiday day’s ahead, and how to carry the spirit of Christmas into the New Year. You can get a copy of Maria’s book by visiting her site.

Angie Newton called in to share that she is looking at getting one of the Senseo’s but was wondering about if the pods are a bit on the expensive side. Kelly said that they are a bit expensive but for the person that wants one cup of coffee (or tea) every now and then the cost isn’t too bad. Right now Carrie Lauth has a contest going on where she is giving away a $20 off coupon for a Senseo machine! To find out more about the contest, visit Carrie’s blog.

Join Kelly and Tishia tomorrow to talk about what you want for your bathroom this year.  What’s your kitchen wish list?  Leave a comment and let us know.  Also on tomorrow’s show the winner of all that yummy chocolate from the November blogging contest will be announced as well as the Mom Blogger of the month!

Mom’s Morning Show #60

Nov 28, 2007 Author: Tishia | Filed under: Mom's Morning Show

It’s Work at Home Wednesday on Mom’s Morning Show today. Kelly and Tishia were joined by Jennifer Gniadecki.

Today Kelly wanted to know from a Virtual Assistant point of view what’s the biggest pet peeve they have?As a Virtual Assistant Tishia said her biggest pet peeve is when a client sends last minute projects expecting it to be done. In the beginning of her business she had no problem doing a last minute project but now with a full schedule and her days planned last minute projects aren’t an option for her anymore so she has turn that project down for a client that is a regular client and has done steady business with her. Often times she finds that most clients don’t have a problem having to wait for her to be able to get to the project but there have been a few that couldn’t wait.

Kelly shared her wishy/washy feelings about Mum Dinger this week. There are a select few people that submit and vote on stories on a regular basis but it’s not getting as much activity as Kelly would like. The question now is what can be done to bring in more activity to the site?  Jennifer suggested giving it three more months and see what happens, Kelly agreed.

Kelly and Jennifer talked for a few minutes about social bookmarking sites. Jennifer took a few minutes to share about what social bookmarking sites are and why she uses them.

Mom’s Morning Show #59

Nov 27, 2007 Author: Tishia | Filed under: Mom's Morning Show, Uncategorized

It’s Tackle it Tuesday on Mom’s Morning Show today.  Tishia and Kelly were joined by Aurelia Willliams, in fact Aurelia is going to be joining us every Tuesday.

Today’s topic of conversation was all about complaining and venting. Kelly says that you can complain and vent once but unless you take action to change it you can’t complain again, all conversations following your initial complain & vent need to be constructive.  It’s called spinning…you complain over and over but never take action to change.  Understand that Kelly doesn’t mean you can’t complain ever again about the same thing she’s just saying that it needs to be done constructively and with a purpose.

Talking and venting are two different things as Aurelia pointed out.  If you are talking through something that’s different than venting about something.  Sometimes you need to talk about things to be able to work through them.

Are you a chronic complainer?  A chronic complainer doesn’t even realize that they are spewing word vomit over and over.  Often times the only time you realize it is when someone brings it to your attention!

You still have a couple more days to enter the November blogging contest!  Come on ladies that is a lot of chocolate Kelly is giving away and you know you want it!

Mom’s Morning Show #58

Nov 26, 2007 Author: Tishia | Filed under: Mom's Morning Show

It’s Manic Monday today on Mom’s Morning Show and Tishia and Kelly were joined by Chele Neisler, LaTara Ham-Ying and Aurelia Williams.

Special guest of the day was Dr. Terry de Forrest. Dr. de Forrest came on to share about his book Improve Your Child’s Behavior - Simple Strategies that Really Work. Tishia received a copy of the book to review for the interview and shared that she was taken aback to open the book and, in the introduction, read that it is probably her behavior that needs to be changed instead of her son’s! She admitted to thinking that there wasn’t anything wrong with her behavior when it came to discipline but once she read the book she realized that there was a lot of behavior that she did indeed need to change before working on her son’s behavior! Dr. Terry de Forrest shared some suggestions and advice on how to regain control of your child if you’ve slacked in parenting and been lenient in certain areas. It’s not easy being the disciplinary but it’s imperative that you be consistent and follow through or your child will continue to win the discipline battles. Pick up a copy of Dr. de Forrest’s book here.

Don’t forget about the November blogging contest! Kelly sweetened (no pun intended) the pot…she has doubled the prize (so you will now win double the chocolate!). And if that isn’t good enough not only will the interviewer get cholocate, the interviewee will get some chocolate too! Come on ladies start interviewing those show hosts, you only have a couple days left for your chance to enter!

It’s Work at Home Wednesday on Mom’s Morning Show Kelly and Jennifer Gniadecki joined forces today and chatted about pens, steno pads, sharpie markers, and send out cards. Of course it wouldn’t of been a work at home episode if they didn’t talk about anything business related so the conversation took a turn and they talk about SEO (search engine optimization).

Mom’s Morning Show #56

Nov 20, 2007 Author: Tishia | Filed under: Mom's Morning Show

It’s Tackle it Tuesday on Mom’s Morning Show today. Sandra Jensen joined Kelly and Tishia on the show today. The topic of conversation was all about tackling Thanksgiving. Tishia shared last week that the Holidays are very stressful for her trying to travel from her mom’s house to her dad’s house and just not having any time for herself & Caleb or to just relax. Next year she will be starting a new tradition on Thanksgiving - her & Caleb aren’t going anywhere.  They are going to stay at home and have their own Thanksgiving dinner.

Marie Ynami called in to share all about her Holiday Season Kickoff that she has going on right now. Make sure to visit her site and listen to the interviews, read the transcripts and see what the Holiday kickoff is all about.

Kelly asked Angie if she was worried about indulging a bit too much this year around the Holidays and Carrie Lauth piped up to share about a book she recently read called Mindless Eating. A couple tips Carrie shared from the book were to use a smaller plate, sit next to someone that eats slow versus a fast eater, limit flavors to two or three on your plate and the availability of food (example: candy sitting on your desk is easier to mindlessly eat rather than having to get up and walk across the room to access that candy).

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving season? Sandra shared she is thankful for the move (her & her family recently moved from Michigan to Indiana), that their great friends are coming for a visit for Thanksgiving, family, and so much more. Kelly shared that she is thankful for those four beautiful, healthy, thriving babies that her niece gave birth to recently. Angie shared she is so thankful for her wonderful husband. Carrie shared that she is thankful for her healthy children. Tishia shared that she is thankful for the WAHM community and how they pulled together to help her in a time of dire financial need! And the list goes on and on for all the ladies.

Don’t forget about the November blogging contest! As of today - Kelly just sweetened (no pun intended) the pot…she has doubled the prize (so you will now win double the chocolate!). And if that isn’t good enough not only will the interviewer get cholocate, the interviewee will get some chocolate too! Come on ladies start interviewing those show hosts!

It’s Work at Home Wednesday on Mom’s Morning Show. This morning Kelly was joined by Jennifer Gniadecki to get deep into discussion about SEO (search enging optimization).

Jennifer and Kelly used Barbara Ryan’s, of Cherish Collage, website to pick apart about SEO and keywords. Barbara joined them on the phone so that they could all interact.

If you are one of those people that steer clear from SEO because you just don’t understand it this is one show you will want to listen to. It was deep conversation but on a level that was easy enough to understand for a newbie.
