Chores For Your Little Ones
Alice Seba, from Schmoozins.com, and I talk mom to mom about getting our little ones to help around the house. With a little creativity, and patience, toddlers can start to learn to do some chores. This is not only helpful to Mom, but it teaches them skills they will need throughout their lives. This is a very fun chat with Alice. We both really enjoyed talking - and you can tell from all the giggling we did! Alice also told us all about her new site Schmoozins.com - a great place to hang out.

Based on some listener feedback, I interview Marla Martindale, a RSD Coach. Marla and I discuss how to manage your home and family day to day if you have a disability or are elderly.
The day to day management of your home and family can be a challenge in itself. Add to that a family and a physical disability and things seem impossible. Marla and I talk about how to deal if you are dealt with an ‘affliction’.
Marla gives us some awesome tools to use around the house. She uses a ‘tool belt’ her husband made for her to carry things around. She also mentioned a few times about using a ‘gripper’. I found this one at, available at rehabmart.com.
Marla’s website is AWinningLifeWithRSD.com. She can also be heard every Tuesday at her talk show on Blog Talk Radio - WinningLifeThroughPain.
To-Do Lists
I’m joined by Sarah Zeldman from SolutionsForBusyMoms.com. Sarah gives us so much information to do lists. We go over what we do wrong when creating our lists, how to create a working list, and how to stay motivated. She pointed out that we need to capture everything that needs to be done then list the next action, not the projects, on our to do lists.
We should also group our tasks together according to the context zones. These zones can be the task’s location, whom else is involved in the task, the energy level the task requires and the tools needed.
To avoid procrastination, Sarah gives us her “6 D’s”: Do, Delete, Delegate, Diminish, Double-up and Discipline. She also reminds us to really ask ourselves why we are avoiding certain tasks on our list.
Sarah and I both agree that treating your home like a business is a great way to effectively manage your home. Consider yourself the CEO of your home. Manage your departments, create procedures, initiate projects and delegate tasks.
Don’t miss out on all the free resources we mentioned. They are available at TheHouseholdHelper.com/podcast
Groceries, Meal Planning, Coupons and Tips!
This week I re-run an interview from November - Marie from MommyCommunity.com grilled me on saving money using coupons. But there is more to saving money on groceries.
It starts with meal planning. Planning your meal’s for the week based on what’s on sale at your store will save you a bunch. I provide some examples during my talk with Marie on how I would plan some meals.
Always match a coupon to a sale item to increase your savings. And shop at more than one store, depending on what’s on sale. I personally shop at 2 grocery stores, Walmart and CVS in order to maximize my savings.
In the last segment, I provide additional tips: where else to find coupons and freezer cooking.
This week I talk with Aurelia Williams again. We discuss how to get the family involved and motivated to keep the home tidy. Through our conversation you’ll realize the key points are
