Mom’s Morning Show #97
February 11, 2008 by Tishia
Today it’s it’s Kelly McCausey, Tishia Lee, Carrie Lauth and Lynette Chandler.
This Week’s Theme: Blogging with Wordpress: Having Fun and Making Money
The conversation started out with how a lot of people started out with Blogger.com to create their first blog. Carrie shared that she is in the process of having her Blogger blog moved to Wordpress.
The ladies shared some of their favorite reasons for liking WordPress so much. The one main reason was obvious - it’s easy to use for content sites. A couple other reasons were the post date feature and being able to change the title.
Lynette will be offering a WordPress Bootcamp in the future! Sign up for her newsletter at www.techbasedmarketing.com and be on the lookout!

Learning about WAH and Blogs/Podcasts and where my niche might be headed. Thanks. From Florida
I’m new everywhere. I just started blogging and I’m trying to figure the whole thing out. I’m using Blogger, since it was free, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about WordPress. I’m just so .html challenged, that I’m not sure what the best way to do it is. Thanks for the info.
I started using blogger when I first started online and I liked the way it operated. After a while I started to want to personalize my blog a little bit more, and I didn’t have that freedom with Blogger.
I moved over to Wordpress and I’m glad I did. You have the ability to personalize your site so much more using the various widgets. Wordpress also offers you a lot more options when it comes to themes you’re able to use.
As far as converting your blogger blog over to wordpress, it’s simple. They have an import button which will carry over all of your old posts, pages, pictures, etc. The only bummer is having to move to a new web address, but it’s an easy switch to make.
If your trying to optimize your blogs for the search engines, wordpress blogs work so much faster than any other platform.
Good luck with it!
Anyone have any tips on driving more traffic to your blog? Of course networking is great - but anything else work good? I’ve tried blog explosion but to no much success.
