Mom’s Morning Show #120

March 13, 2008 by Tishia

Mom’s Morning Show crew Kelly McCausey, Tishia Lee came together to talk to guest co-host Diana Walker.

This Week’s Theme: Eating & Living Healthier for a Good Life and a Smart Business

The ladies looked at how eating healthy and exercising effects your business. Tishia shared that until she embraced eating healthy and exercising over the past almost two months that she didn’t really realize how being healthy effected her business. But she thinks back to when she used to live on caffeine and junk and how foggy her brain was and unfocused she was in her business. Now she works with a clear, focused brain and finds it’s easier to accomplish business projects.

Diana talked about gluten and wheat and how you can have a sensitivity to that. You can tell if you are sensitive to it because as soon as you eat it you might feel tired. The way to find out if you are intolerant to wheat is cut it out for 2-3 days. You might go through withdrawals even! Statistics show that a lot of people are not even aware that they have a wheat intolerance!

Diana & Kelly talked about sugar and the nasty effects it has on your body and your health. Sugar also effects your immune system and your bodies capability of fighting off disease!

Diana shared a great quote this morning:
“Health isn’t everything, but everything is nothing without health.”

I wish I had been able to call in. I have a wheat intolerance. When I eat wheat, I have low blood sugar symptoms, constipation and fatigue. Those are not typical food allergy symptoms. I suspected it for years but once I had some allergy tests that showed up the allergy and I stopped eating it, I dropped ten pounds, started going to the bathroom easily (too much information?!) and didn’t have low blood sugar anymore.

Thankfully I do fine with gluten. I love oats and rye, they don’t give me symptoms.
