Journeys to Motherhood #33

February 1, 2008 by Christina

This week we continue our talk with Colleen Geyer, who is very open about her difficult road to motherhood. In our last show, she spoke about all the fertility treatments she endured and in this episode she shares more of her journey to adoption.

We pick up with Colleen telling about how delighted she and her husband were to hear they were chosen by a birth mother who was pregnant with twins. Even though this was not the happy ending they were hoping for, Colleen credits this episode as one of many that have made her a stronger person.

Colleen is very inspirational and very upbeat despite her tough journey. She received a lot of support from her family, friends and church prayer groups, which she highly credits with helping her survive this tumultuous road. She also speaks very eloquently about how infertility is the “silent disease,” because once people know you are having problems, they tend to keep quiet about their own children or are hesitant to announce their own pregnancies.

Join us and find strength in Colleen’s words and experiences.
