The Cravings Coach #13

June 30, 2008 by Christina · Leave a Comment

It seems like people are on a never-ending journey to lose weight. Everyday we are bombarded with ads for the latest diet craze or the plans that send you packaged food in the mail.

This week Kevin Gianni from Renegade Health joins Diana for Part 3 of their interview about the benefits of raw food. Eating a raw food diet can definitely help with weight loss because the body is ingesting all natural foods rather than artificial packaged chemicals that can cause cravings.

Kevin also answers some listeners’ email questions such as “Do you need any special equipment to follow a raw food diet?” and “Can I still get the benefits of this diet if I still have some meat occasionally?”

For even more information about fighting your hunger cravings, sign up for Diana’s newsletter at The Cravings Coach.

It’s almost July and that means that in just another 6-8 weeks thousands of college students will be heading back to college, some for the first time.

This week Aurelia interviews her oldest daughter Shayna about what it’s like to move away from home for the first time and how parents can help their students make the transition. Shayna also shares her thoughts about ways for students and parents to keep in touch and why having a close, open relationship makes this much easier to accomplish.

Work at Home Moms Talk Radio #230

June 30, 2008 by Kelly · Leave a Comment

Today’s topic: What doesn’t belong on a service provider’s website. (Virtual Assistant, Writer, Designer, etc.)  Listen in for the no-no’s you may be commiting on your website.

My big news this week is the launch of my new membership site, Blog Evangelists.  Yes, it breaks the 2008 rule about ‘no new projects’ but I have forgiven myself so I hope you can too ;)

Blog Evangelists will teach members how to create, launch and build a local blog design company.  It’s a great niche for 2008 and beyond.  Sound interesting? Check it out!

Family updates: The manchild is no more a manchild, he is now a man.  Sean turned 18 this week! I’m a proud mama :)

And if you missed the good news, Piper came home from the hospital on Friday night.  She’s well on the mend from the infection that had her burning up to 105 degrees. (Thanks for all of your support and prayers!)

(Here’s a pic of Piper and Sean at the hospital)

News & Happenings:

Mom’s Morning Show #191

June 25, 2008 by Tishia · Leave a Comment

Kelly McCausey was joined by Tishia Lee, Treece Smolinski, Cara Mirabella and later in the show Chele Neisler called in and joined the ladies.

Tishia brought up conversation from yesterday about business cards. She shared that not having a business card bit her in the rump this morning. She was at the Doctor’s office and the nurse was asking her about Virtual Assistants and her business. Tishia was sharing her website with the nurse and instead of having a business card readily available to hand her, the nurse wrote her website & a couple other recommendations down on a sticky note. Tishia said she was ordering business cards today!

That conversation led the ladies into how Tishia could pitch a story to her local newspaper about Virtual Assistants and how local people probably don’t understand what it is or have never even heard the term, just like this nurse at the Doctor’s office.

The ladies talked about spending money on their business and Treece wanted to know if you spent only money that your business earned on business products (learning materials, etc) or if you use personal money on the business.

This Week’s Theme: ‘Nickels and Dimes: Frugal Business Tactics’

The ladies talked with Carrie about the decision making process of going to work outside the home part-time. Carrie has had something come up that she needs a large amount of cash in a couple months. The ladies brainstormed with Carrie to help her come up with things that she can do at home instead of looking for work outside the home.
