Journeys to Motherhood #29

November 30, 2007 by Kelly · Leave a Comment

On this show we delve into Part 2 of Tracy Jo Devereaux’s magnificent story. I hope you had a chance to check out Part 1, and I hope you’ve also looked at her website. If not, go to our Archives Page and take a moment to listen to the last show, and be sure to go to www.MaceyD.com. As Tracy Jo shares with us today, you will hear about her life transforming, as she finds herself pregnant with quads. She had been hoping that the quads would be home for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case; however, they ARE doing great!  And that, of course, is the important thing. Check out her website to see these beautiful babies in their Thanksgiving garb, and their sweet big sister, Macey, who was the first miracle to enter Tracy Jo’s life.

Also covered in her story, are the inevitable changes that infertility inflicts upon one’s marriage, the internal conflicts that Tracy Jo’s husband has been facing, the issue of selective reduction and myriad other aspects of this life surreal. When I personally am having a day that is making me feel weathered and worn, I now think of Tracy Jo. Thoughts of her and what she has had to face, put everything back into perspective for me. And at that moment, I say a little prayer for her and her family, and I always find myself then smiling.

Mom’s Morning Show #62

November 30, 2007 by Tishia · 1 Comment

It’s Fun Filled Friday on Mom’s Morning Show today.  Tishia and Kelly were full of the giggles and although ladies giggling on a podcast can be annoying it’s fun filled Friday so Kelly decided they could giggle all they wanted.

The ladies talked about some published news over at Mum Dinger.  If you haven’t checked out the story over there about the teenager that committed suicide because of a MySpace hoax you need to head on over there and read the story!

It’s bathroom Christmas wish list time – what do you want for your bathroom?  Tishia wants new shower curtain/decorations, the automated shower cleaning (spray thing), and the disposable toilet cleaner.  Chele would like a remodel in the bathroom and a vanity so that she has a place to do her makeup.  Kelly would like an electric toothbrush, electric razor and she wouldn’t mind one of those microdermabrasion sets.

Congratulations to Annette Yen who was the winner of the November blogging contest.  Tara Crooks will be receiving some chocolate also for being the show host Annette interviewed.
Congratulations to Alyssa Avant for being chosen as the Mom Blogger of the month!

On the Phone:

Patrick – 1st time caller & he saved the day & picked a number for the chocolate give a way!

November 29, 2007 by Tishia · 2 Comments

Kelly and Tishia were joined by Christina Lemmey on Mom’s Morning Show today. Christina joined Kelly and Tishia to talk about kitchen wish lists for this Christmas. Christina shared that she is thinking along the lines of big items. Kelly shared that she loves Pampered Chef items and actually uses them. Tishia has some pampered chef items on her wish list now that she realized they really aren’t all that expensive!

Special guest today was Maria Rodgers O’Rourke. Maria joined the show to share some of her 10 Tips for a Less-Stress Holiday Season. The Holidays bring a lot of stress on people, especially women as they are always doing things for everyone. Maria’s book Deck the Halls Without Climbing the Walls is perfect for every woman who wants to prepare for December 25th in the true Christmas spirit, and not only survive the holidays but enjoy them. Maria will help you put some joy back in your heart during the busy Holiday day’s ahead, and how to carry the spirit of Christmas into the New Year. You can get a copy of Maria’s book by visiting her site.

Angie Newton called in to share that she is looking at getting one of the Senseo’s but was wondering about if the pods are a bit on the expensive side. Kelly said that they are a bit expensive but for the person that wants one cup of coffee (or tea) every now and then the cost isn’t too bad. Right now Carrie Lauth has a contest going on where she is giving away a $20 off coupon for a Senseo machine! To find out more about the contest, visit Carrie’s blog.

Join Kelly and Tishia tomorrow to talk about what you want for your bathroom this year.  What’s your kitchen wish list?  Leave a comment and let us know.  Also on tomorrow’s show the winner of all that yummy chocolate from the November blogging contest will be announced as well as the Mom Blogger of the month!

Michelle’s guest this week is Kristine McKinley of www.FinancialTipsForWAHMs.com and she shares some of the biggest tax deductions that home business owners miss on their tax returns. She also has some great tips for implementing a good bookkeeping system, what tax planning means and what expenses are deductible if you have yet to make a profit in your business.

Preparing your bookkeeping system and organizing your tax documents really should be an ongoing process so you are not left struggling at the end of the year with mass chaos. Find a plan that works for you and stay up-to-date with your files and books so tax season is less stressful.

Family Foodies #13

November 28, 2007 by Kelly · Leave a Comment

Well, today I was joined by my good friend Kelly McCausey. Kelly had a hankerin’ for Shepherd’s Pie, and asked me to teach her how to make one! So I shared the age-old recipe. We had fun chatting over the how-to’s as well as a few variations for this yummy old favorite. I can’t wait to see the picture of Kelly cooking her own, and to hear (from Sean) how it turned out!

Mom’s Morning Show #60

November 28, 2007 by Tishia · 3 Comments

It’s Work at Home Wednesday on Mom’s Morning Show today. Kelly and Tishia were joined by Jennifer Gniadecki.

Today Kelly wanted to know from a Virtual Assistant point of view what’s the biggest pet peeve they have?As a Virtual Assistant Tishia said her biggest pet peeve is when a client sends last minute projects expecting it to be done. In the beginning of her business she had no problem doing a last minute project but now with a full schedule and her days planned last minute projects aren’t an option for her anymore so she has turn that project down for a client that is a regular client and has done steady business with her. Often times she finds that most clients don’t have a problem having to wait for her to be able to get to the project but there have been a few that couldn’t wait.

Kelly shared her wishy/washy feelings about Mum Dinger this week. There are a select few people that submit and vote on stories on a regular basis but it’s not getting as much activity as Kelly would like. The question now is what can be done to bring in more activity to the site?  Jennifer suggested giving it three more months and see what happens, Kelly agreed.

Kelly and Jennifer talked for a few minutes about social bookmarking sites. Jennifer took a few minutes to share about what social bookmarking sites are and why she uses them.
